The rights of the individual, originating from the Media Act

The Media Act (Official gazette of RS, no. 110/2006), stipulating in its Article 45 the media access to public information.

Based on the above mentioned decision, the access to public information as regards the needs of journalists and media is in fact broader, as according to The Media Act the government bodies are obliged to answer the journalists’ questions, an obligation not present under the Acces to Public Information Act. In addition also the reply times are shorter.  The bodies must provide the journalists with answers to their questions, submitted in written form at the latest in seven working days from the receipt.
